This qualification is made up of four mandatory units. All units must be successfully completed to achieve the full qualification.

Why Study Cyber Security?

We are one of a very small number of sixth forms in the North West that offer technical IT courses. We have been offering networking and IT support courses for over 15 years and have a track record of success and excellent results. Past students have gone onto study at University and into industry gaining highly paid jobs both in the UK and abroad.

Cyber Security is one of the fastest growing industries and there is a massive shortage of professionals qualified in this field. Students studying technical IT courses often complement them with studying Computer Science, Electronics and Maths.

The study of the level 3 technical IT Cyber Security course allows students to develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of how networks and PCs are configured and operate. From IP addresses to SPI, from VLANs to Firewalls, from cyberattacks to prevention, students gain an insight into the inner workings and astonishing truths about how networks are designed, built and configured. Students are given the opportunity to develop practical and analytical skills in addition to acquiring IT knowledge and understanding. As well as stimulating natural curiosity and problem solving capabilities, the course should prepare you well for employment or higher education.
