Pearson Health and Social Care Btec Level 2 Tech Award
Aims of the subject:
Through a combination of practical experience and written assignments, this vocational qualifications provide level 2 learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a career in the sector. This qualification provides students with a taste of what the health and social care sector is like, enabling them to make informed choices about their future careers. There is a clear progression route to our sixth form level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship within the health and social care sector.

Assessment Overview:
This course has two internally assessed components, and one that’s externally assessed:

You will study human growth and development across life stages and explore factors that affect the growth and development of an individual. You will investigate different types of life events that occur in individual’s lives and how they cope with changes caused by these life events |

| 11 | Component 2 Health and Social Care Services and Values
You will examine health and social care services and barriers individuals face in accessing services. You will also research care values used in health and social care. Component 3 Health and wellbeing This external component builds on your knowledge, understanding and skills acquired and developed in Components 1 and 2. You will be given a case study and will assess an individual’s health and wellbeing, drawing on your understanding of life events from Component 1. You will design a health and wellbeing improvement plan that draws on their knowledge of services and care values from Component 2. |
