Collective worship
At The Deanery, collective worship is central to our life as a Church school. Rooted in our Christian vision and values, it shapes our ethos, nurtures spiritual growth, builds community, and offers space to pause and connect with God.
Collective worship provides opportunities to:
Speak and Listen to God through Prayer
Using different kinds of prayer, including set, group, personal and spontaneous prayer, as well as quiet moments to help everyone engage in their own way.
Read and Apply Bible Teaching
Exploring Bible stories and teachings that help us understand our relationship with God and how this shapes the way we live.
Praise
Showing our gratitude and joy through creative expression, words and actions, using our gifts to honour God.
Be Inspired by Christian Role Models
Learning from the lives of people past and present who live out Christian values and thinking about how we might do the same.
Ask Big Questions
Wondering about life, purpose and faith, and exploring the answers Christianity offers, while encouraging curiosity and deeper thinking.
Reflect
Being open to God’s presence, considering who we are becoming, and listening for how God might be leading us.
Tell
Sharing our experiences of faith and witnessing to others, encouraging one another by listening, supporting and growing together.
In line with Church of England guidance, our worship is inspiring, invitational and inclusive. While rooted in Christian tradition, it is designed to be accessible to all, including those of other faiths or no faith.
Our School Prayer
Dear Lord,
Give us the courage to work hard, be kind, and make a difference every day.
Let us love one another as you love us.
Give us wisdom and integrity to do what is right.
Bring hope to our hearts,
And may you guide us in the way of faith.
Amen.
